The Lion and the Rat

The Lion and the Rat by Ruth Wanyana is a children's story presented in both English and Kiswahili. Part of the Soft Series, this illustrated paperback tale brings together two well-known animal characters to engage young readers in bilingual storytelling.

Accompanied by illustrations from Nsamba Phillip, the book offers an approachable reading experience for children growing their vocabulary in both languages. It serves as a helpful resource for homes, early primary classrooms, and school libraries where learners are encouraged to practise reading in English alongside Kiswahili.
